Automatic Lock Arm Awnings
Automatic Awnings are without question the most popular blinds. They are also known as “Storm Blinds” and are one of the oldest concepts introduced in Australia some 40 years ago. They are an extremely popular way of protecting a window or other living space against the sun and keeping the UV out while letting light in.
The maximum width is 3950mm wide. They are mostly fitted on the face of a wall over a window, usually, 150mm over each side of the window reveal, to allow us to secure the awning to a brick (not in between mortar) or to a wooden substrate. These awnings are also excellent for fitting between two posts – say on an outside gazebo. If it is fitted under an eave, there is seldom reason to fit a hood, as the awning will be protected by the overhang of the eave.
